One speed drive One speed drive

The RMA 448 TC is the ideal lawn mower for larger lawns, especially if you have slopes or inclines to mow. The one-speed drive propels the mower forward for almost effortless mowing.

Unique design grass catcher box Unique design grass catcher box

The grass catcher box on all of our cordless mowers is designed to open like a clam shell - there's no need to try and shake the grass out of a narrow opening. Simply unclip the back and it unfolds completely so you can drop it straight onto the compost heap.

Flow-optimised blades Flow-optimised blades

All STIHL lawn mowers have a flow-optimised blade, which are designed to lift the grass, cut it neatly then push it straight into the catcher box, without using unnecessary battery life, moving the air around in the deck.

Eco mode Eco mode

The RMA 448 TC features an eco mode - by turning it on, the lawn mower will adapt the speed of the blade to the mowing conditions, spinning faster in denser grass, or slower when carrying out a quick trim. This makes the most of the battery life to help you mow for longer.

Central cutting-height adjustment Central cutting-height adjustment

It's easy to adjust the cutting height of the mower to one of six different levels between 25mm and 75mm in one easy movement, thanks to the spring loaded lever.

Carrying handles Carrying handles

There are carrying handles on the front and top of the mower, making it easier to move and transport. You can even use the handles to easily secure the mower with a strap in a car or van too.

Hard-wearing wheels Hard-wearing wheels

The wheels on the RMA 448 TC are durable and sturdy, and have traction patterns that have been designed to make it easy to steer the mower around your lawn and hold the perfect line.

Innovative mono handlebar Innovative mono handlebar

It may look unusual but the robust mono-comfort handlebar can be adjusted and folded at the touch of a lever, and gives you straightforward access to the grass catcher box.

Second battery storage slot Second battery storage slot

There is a second slot on the RMA 448 TC for a spare battery so once one runs out, you can simply swap it for the spare.

QWhat size garden will it maintain?

A: With an AP 300 battery, the RMA 448 TC lawn mower will cut approximately 400m² of lawn.

QHow long does it take to charge?

A: To fully charge an AP 300 battery with an AL 101 charger, it takes 250 minutes, but you can charge it up to 80% in 190 minutes. You can also buy our quick chargers if you need to charge your battery quicker.

QWhat battery does it use?

A: The mower is powered by an interchangeable 36V Lithium-Ion battery.

QAre the batteries interchangeable?

A: Yes, they are interchangeable with other tools in the PRO Cordless range that use the AP batteries. They are not interchangeable with the COMPACT Cordless System tools.

QWhat should I wear when using this mower?

A: We recommend that you wear sturdy boots or shoes and snug-fitting clothes.

QHow big is the grass catcher box?

A: The RMA 448 TC has a 55 litre grass catcher box.

QWill the blade need sharpening?

A: Keeping the blade sharp will give you a precise finish on your lawn and prevent disease. If you notice that the tips of the grass look torn after mowing and the cut isn't as neat, the blade may need sharpening. Our approved STIHL dealers can do this for you - find your nearest dealer

QWhat is the cutting width of the RMA 448 TC?

A: It has a cutting width of 46cm.

QHow do I know when the grass box is full?

A: Just keep an eye on the grass level indicator on the top of the catcher box - when the flap drops down, the box is full and should be emptied.

QCan I use this lawn mower on wet grass?

A: Yes, you can - STIHL lawn mowers are designed to deliver a great cut even when it's been raining, thanks to the airflow generated by the blade, the shape of the deck and the vents in the grass catcher box.

#1Cleaning your RMA 448 TC

When you have finished using the mower, remove the battery and clean the grass using a damp cloth or soft brush. Always wear gloves and tie back long hair when cleaning or maintaining your mower.

#2Storing your RMA 448 TC

Store your RMA 448 TC in a clean and dry area away from children at all times. Don't forget you can fold the handle over and put the grass box on top so it takes up less space.

#3Looking after your battery

Don't use a damp or wet battery in your RMA 448 TC and avoid using them in extreme temperatures (very hot or very cold). Find out more about looking after your battery on our blog.

#4Using a mulching kit

You can also buy a mulching kit for your RMA 448 TC. This means that instead of collecting the grass clippings in the catcher box, you remove the box and use the mulching kit to cut the clippings finely and drop them back on to the lawn as a natural fertiliser. Find out more about mulching on the STIHL Blog. We don't sell mulching kits online, but you can buy one from your nearest STIHL Approved Dealer. Find your nearest dealer

#5Leaves on the lawn

Did you know you can use your RMA 448 TC to collect and shred leaves on your lawn? Switching off the eco mode means that the blade speed does not drop and so the mower can lift leaves with ease.
