The HTA 50 is a lightweight battery-powered pole pruner that is perfect for cutting high branches and pruning trees in your garden. The HTA 50 is part of the AK System of cordless tools, meaning the interchangeable batteries can be used in other tools in the AK System, including lawn mowers, grass trimmers and hedge trimmers. This cordless pole pruner has an overall length of 280 cm and is incredibly easy to use. A 50cm shaft extension is also available (sold separately) if extra reach is needed.
The HTA 50 comes with a ¼”P PM3 saw chain and Rollomatic E Mini guide bar, which are designed to provide a powerful and accurate cutting performance. The HTA 50 is best suited to cutting branches of between 5 to 12 cm diameter, with the occasional larger branch. A branch hook makes pulling down cut branches much easier when pruning.
Weighing 4.8 kg including the battery, the HTA 50 has great balance and can be used either right or left-handed, depending on what's most comfortable for you. The HTA 50 also features an inspection window on the oil tank of the cutting head, so you can keep track of your oil levels whilst cutting. You will need to make sure the saw chain is properly lubricated - you can use a chain oil such as STIHL’s ForestPlus for this purpose.
The shaft of the HTA 50 can also be separated for easy storage in the garden shed - alternatively the wall mount can be used for convenient storage on a wall.

QHow long does the battery last?A: The recommended AK 20 battery will last up to 45 minutes in the HTA 50, which is roughly the time it would take to make 170 cuts in 10 x 10 timber. This will depend on what the tool is cutting.
QHow long does it take to charge?
A: To fully charge the recommended AK 20 battery using the AL 101 charger, it takes 180 minutes, or to charge it up to 80%, it takes 135 minutes.
QWhat battery does it use?
The tool is powered by a 36V Lithium-Ion battery.
QAre the batteries interchangeable?
A: Yes, they are interchangeable with other tools in the AK System. They are not interchangeable with AS System or AP System tools.

QWhat should I wear when using this pole pruner?
A: We recommend that you wear snug-fitting clothes, goggles, gloves and sturdy boots or shoes. You should tie back long hair too. When cutting above shoulder height, we also recommend wearing a helmet.
Tips
#1Cleaning your HTA 50When you have finished using the HTA 50 pole pruner, remove the battery and wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth. Don't forget to wear gloves when doing any maintenance on the tool.
#2Looking after your battery
