The HSA 30 battery-powered hedge trimmer is our lightest hedge trimmer yet. It's ideal for smaller hedge trimming tasks around the garden, such as annual maintenance cuts and keeping topiary in check. As part of the AS System of battery-powered tools, it uses the STIHL AS 2 battery which can be used in all of the other tools in the AS System, including our GTA 26 pruner, SEA 20 vacuum and FSA 30 grass trimmer.

On a full charge of the AS 2, the HSA 30 has a working time of up to 50 minutes, and it's easy to check how much charge you have left too; simply press the button on the side of the tool.

The HSA 30 has a 45cm cutter bar and a cutting capacity of 8mm. It also has a tip protector fitted to protect the blades when cutting close to the ground. The blades themselves are laser-cut and diamond-ground to be durable, as well as giving a precise finish on your hedges. The HSA 30 is a great option if you're looking for a light hedge trimmer that still delivers a great finish on your hedges.

  • Battery run time: up to 50 minutes

Easy storage

There is an in-built hanging loop below the handle to make it easy to store on the shed wall. The charger for the HSA 30 can also be wall-mounted to save space.

LED charge level indicator

Just press the button on the side of the hedge trimmer to see at a glance how much battery charge you have left.

Laser-cut diamond-ground cutting blade

The cutting blade is cut and ground using diamond discs, which means they are extremely durable, stay sharp for longer and deliver a precise finish. It also comes with a scabbard to cover the blades and protect them during transport and storage.

QWhat size branches can I cut with the HSA 30?

A: You can cut branches up to 8mm in diameter.

QWhat should I wear when using the HSA 30?

We recommend that you wear goggles and sturdy boots or shoes. We also recommend that you tie back long hair and wear snug-fitting clothes.

QWill the blades need sharpening?

Keeping the blades sharp will give a neat cut on whatever you are trimming. If you notice that the blades are getting jammed easily or the machine is struggling, the blades may need sharpening. Our approved STIHL dealers can do this for you - find your nearest one here:

#1Cleaning your HSA 30

After using your HSA 30, we suggest spraying a little resin solvent, like STIHL Superclean, onto the blades to remove sap or resin, protect them from corrosion and stop them getting stuck together.
