The HSA 40 cordless hedge trimmer is a new hedge trimmer in our AS System of battery-powered tools. Lightweight and easy to use, the HSA 40 makes quick work of smaller trimming jobs in the garden. It's ideal for regular maintenance trims and keeping topiary in check. The interchangeable AS 2 battery can also be used in all of the other tools in the AS System, such as the GTA 26 pruner and FSA 30 grass trimmer.

You can quickly check how much charge you have left using the LED display on the side of the tool. On a full charge, the HSA 40 has a working time of up to 40 minutes.

The HSA 40 has a 50cm cutter bar and you can trim branches up to 8mm thick. It has a tip protector fitted to protect the blades, which are laser-cut and diamond-ground so they deliver an excellent cutting performance.

  • Battery run time: up to 40 minutes

Features

Easy storage

There is an in-built hanging loop below the handle to make it easy to store on the shed wall. The charger for the HSA 30 can also be wall-mounted to save space.

LED charge level indicator

Just press the button on the side of the hedge trimmer to see at a glance how much battery charge you have left.

Laser-cut diamond-ground cutting blade

The cutting blade is cut and ground using diamond discs, which means they are extremely durable, stay sharp for longer and deliver a precise finish. It also comes with a scabbard to cover the blades and protect them during transport and storage.

FAQs

QWhat size branches can I cut with the HSA 40?

A: You can cut branches up to 8mm in diameter.

QWhat should I wear when using the HSA 40?

We recommend that you wear goggles and sturdy boots or shoes. We also recommend that you tie back long hair and wear snug-fitting clothes.

QWill the blades need sharpening?

Keeping the blades sharp will give a neat cut on whatever you are trimming. If you notice that the blades are getting jammed easily or the machine is struggling, the blades may need sharpening. Tips

#1Cleaning your HSA 40

After using your HSA 40, we suggest spraying a little resin solvent, like STIHL Superclean, onto the blades to remove sap or resin, protect them from corrosion and stop them getting stuck together.
