The RMA 248 battery-powered lawn mower is a robust, steel-decked mower for keeping the lawn in check in medium-sized gardens.
This mower is simple to use and easy to push around the garden. The 55-litre polymer grass catcher box has a fill level indicator so you know when the box is full and needs emptying. And it's quiet, thanks to the AK battery that powers it.
There are two battery slots in the RMA 248, with one live slot and one for storage, so that you always have a spare battery to hand no matter how far from the shed you are! It's part of the AK battery system, which has interchangeable batteries that can be used in the other tools in the range. It has an ECO function that conserves battery life when full power isn't needed too.

Eco mode
The eco mode on the RMA 248 maximises the working time of the battery by automatically increasing or reducing the speed of the blade depending on what you are cutting.
Flow-optimised blades
All STIHL lawn mowers have a flow-optimised blade to neatly cut the lawn, without using unnecessary battery power on moving the air around.
Central cutting-height adjustment
It's easy to adjust the cutting height of the mower in one easy movement with the spring loaded height lever. It can be adjusted in seven stages from 25 and 75mm.
Spare battery slot
The second battery slot on the mower means you can carry a spare battery with you to help get the job done quickly.
Powder-coated sheet steel deck
The steel mowing deck on the RMA 248 is sturdy, robust and long-lasting.
Easy-running wheels

QHow long does it take to charge?
A: To fully charge an AK 30 battery with an AL 101 charger, it takes 205 minutes, but you can charge it up to 80% in 160 minutes.
QWhat battery does it use?
A: The mower is powered by an interchangeable 36V Lithium-Ion battery from the AK System.
QAre the batteries interchangeable?
A: Yes, all of the tools in the AK System use the same style of battery. There are three different batteries in the range, which all have different capacities. For the RMA 248, we recommend the AK 30 battery.
QWhat should I wear when using this mower?
A: We recommend that you wear sturdy boots or shoes and snug-fitting clothes.
QHow big is the grass catcher box?
A: The RMA 248 has a 55 litre grass catcher box.
QWill the blade need sharpening?
A: Keeping the blade sharp will give you a precise finish on your lawn. If you notice that the tips of the grass look torn after mowing and the cut isn't as neat, the blade may need sharpening. Our STIHL approved dealers can do this for you - find your nearest one

QHow do I know when the grass box is full?
A: Just keep an eye on the grass level indicator on the top of the catcher box - when the flap drops down, the box is full and should be emptied.

A: Yes, you can - STIHL lawn mowers are designed to deliver a great cut even when it's been raining, thanks to the airflow generated by the blade, the shape of the deck and the vents in the grass catcher box.

#1Cleaning your RMA 248When you have finished using the mower, remove the battery and clean using a damp cloth or soft brush. Always wear gloves and tie back long wear when cleaning or maintaining your mower.

Store your RMA 248 in a clean and dry area away from children at all times. Store the battery separately from the lawnmower.
#3Looking after your battery
