Our handy wood moisture meter makes it incredibly easy to check whether your logs are fully seasoned and ready to burn. Burning unseasoned wood is less efficient and generates more smoke, so it's important to make sure that the moisture content of your wood is less than 20% before burning.
The wood moisture meter has two small metal retractable prongs at the base which should be inserted into the wood to take a moisture reading. This will be shown on the clear display screen. The gauge can also be used to measure the moisture content of materials such as plaster or cement too.
