Features

Quiet technology

The STIHL AK Cordless System tools are so quiet you don't even need to wear ear protection.

Adjustable length shaft

The length of the shaft on the FSA 57 can be easily adjusted at the touch of a button to suit you whatever your height.

Loop handle Adjustable loop handle

So that you can work in the most comfortable position for you, the loop handle can be easily adjusted without tools.

Spacer bracket Spacer bracket

The metal spacer bracket means you can trim precisely around trees, plants and other objects without damaging them. It can also be folded up if not needed.

Safe battery locking position

There are two positions for the battery - in the first neutral position, the battery is secured in the grass trimmer but is not connected to the contacts, so you can carry the battery around easily without the risk of the trimmer starting accidentally. Once you push the battery in fully, you can easily start the tool.

Charge level indicator on the battery Charge level indicator on the battery

So you know how much charge you have left, the charge level can be viewed at any time using the four LEDs on the battery.

Easy to extend the mowing line Easy to extend the mowing line

The FSA 57 uses the Autocut C3-2 which you can tap on the ground to automatically feed out the mowing line if it has broken off. You can also fit the PolyCut 3-2 head to the FSA 57, which uses blades instead of mowing line.

AL 101 charger AL 101 charger

FAQs

QIs this grass trimmer suitable for trimming through weeds or scrub?

A: No, the AutoCut mowing head on the FSA 57 is only suitable for trimming grass, along lawn edges or in small areas of lawn. If you need to cut thicker, woody material, a brushcutter with a grass cutting blade or brush knife may be more suitable. You can find out more information about the different cutting attachments we have available on the STIHL Blog. Please visit your nearest STIHL dealer, who will be able to give you expert advice and talk you through our full range of brushcutters and cutting tools.

QWhat type of cutting attachment does this use?

A: The FSA 57 uses an AutoCut C3-2 mowing head, which you can buy replacement line for. You can also fit the PolyCut 3-2 head to the FSA 57, which uses plastic mowing blades.

QHow long does the battery last?

A: The AK 10 battery will last up to 25 minutes or mow up to 500m of lawn edges, depending on the type of grass that is being cut and how the tool is being used.

QHow long does it take to charge?

A: To fully charge the battery it takes 95 minutes, or to charge it up to 80%, it takes 70 minutes.

QWhat size garden will it maintain?

A: The FSA 57 is the ideal grass trimmer for medium to large gardens.

QWhat battery does it use?

A: The tool is powered by an interchangeable 36V Lithium-Ion battery.

QAre the batteries interchangeable?

A: Yes, all of the tools in the AK Cordless System use the same style of battery. There are three different batteries in the range, which all have different capacities. For the FSA 57, we recommend the smaller capacity AK 10 battery as it is lighter and means the tool is perfectly balanced, but you can use the AK 20 and AK 30 battery in this tool.

Tips

#1Cleaning your FSA 57

When you have finished using the trimmer, remove the battery and clean using a damp cloth or soft brush.

#2Storing your FSA 57

Store your FSA 57 in a clean and dry area and keep out of the reach of children at all times.

#3Make the most of your mowing line

To get the most of your mowing line, simply pop it in a bucket of water for 12-24 hours before using it to make it more flexible and less likely to break.

#4Check for wildlife

Don’t forget to check your work area for wildlife before starting to use your tool. In particular, you should check for nesting birds before trimming hedges, as well as checking for other small animals such as hedgehogs before trimming long grass.
